This course provides an overview and introduction to the different certification standards, and the impact and implications for workplace design. No prior experience is required. It is suited to professionals across workplace project teams; this might include:

Course Content

The course includes three separate online recordings (circa 8 minutes). Part 1A and Part 1B / Part 2. Each module includes links for additional reading and research.
Content includes: A focus on the different building certification standards. Working to specific building standards and frameworks; sustainability assessments; achieving points across different standards. Environmental and wellbeing considerations. Achieving greater sustainability outside of defined frameworks.

Meet the Presenters

Ana Rita Martins

Sustainability Lead, Woodalls

Ana Rita Barreira Martins, an accomplished architect based in London, is deeply committed to promoting ESG design and methodologies. Ana Rita heads the sustainability team for Woodalls Design, a UK workplace design and build company.

Ana Rita has extensive experience coordinating projects using environmental, social, and health frameworks or certification systems such as BREEAM, LEED, and WELL. In addition, she is actively involved in developing her company’s roadmap for carbon footprint reduction and maintaining credentials such as ISO 14001, Considerate Constructors Scheme and EcoVadis Silver. Apart from her professional pursuits, Ana Rita participates in research and climate awareness groups such as the Sustainable Design Collective and UK Interior Design Declares. She is a highly regarded speaker at industry events and shares her expertise by mentoring students.

Lucy Bagshaw

Lucy Bagshaw, Project Director (Sustainable Designer), tp bennett

Lucy is a Project Director at tp bennett with a breadth of experience across different sectors, both locally in the UK and internationally.
As a key member of the sustainability team at tp bennett, Lucy implements initiatives across interiors projects as well as for the business more broadly. She is the internal lead on responsible sourcing of materials and the internal materials database, and has co-written the sections on Circular Economy and Responsible Sourcing for the upcoming British Council for Offices (BCO) Fit-out Guide.
